From Ivan Stretten
“I have lots of wonderful memories of Punnetts Town, I used to stay with my grand parents William and Laura Pettitt (nee Oliver)who lived at Maindee in Punnetts Town, My grand father worked for William Sands the builders as is did my uncle Jack Pettitt, his wife Hazel(nee Baitup) worked as a cook at Punnetts Town school, they lived at Delbrae.
My mother Winifred Pettitt was also born in Punnetts town, married my father Frederick Stretten and lives now in Hastings at 90 years old. My grand father is pictured in the photo you have of the football team, He was also in the local fire brigade, I remember going to Cornfords shop, the Barley Mow when it was a pub and another shop that I think was run by the Waring family, and meeting the man restoring the widmill.I will attach some photo's of my grandfather etc.in the fire brigade picture he is 2nd from the right in the football picure he is front row far right”.

Some more photo's - one of my brother Keith who lived with my grandparents pictured with a lady called Mrs Punnett who lived next door.
The group pictures (below) are outings that the ladies of Punnetts Town went on. In the first image Mrs Laura Pettitt is 6th from the left 3rd row to the back and in the other she is 6th from the left 2nd row from the back.
Can anyone identify anyone else??? email mick if you can!
